Ka'anapali Makai Watch has teamed up with Monika Mira, the author of the wonderful and informative book, The Complete Hawaiian Reef Fish Coloring Book, for a World Oceans Day coloring contest!
Based on an idea from volunteer Melissa, we developed a coloring page featuring herbivores and information about the Kahekili Herbivore Fisheries Management Area for outreach events and kid-friendly restaurants around Maui (more on that later...). Monika was kind enough to grant us permission to use the images from her book.
That led to her idea of hosting a coloring contest for kids featuring herbivores! You can find out more at her website, and I will also post a summary of the rules and a set of the coloring pages with KHFMA info below.
The deadline is June 11th...so find some keiki and get coloring! You could win a copy of her award-winning book!
I will also have copies of the pages available on June 8th at Maui Ocean Center's World Oceans Day celebration, and you can download them directly from Lucid Publishing's site (without the KHFMA info).
World Oceans Day Coloring Contest Rules
